Hello, I'm Sasha!
What do you love about teaching for the BYEP?
I love that I get to share gentle and restorative practices to help aid in nervous system regulation. Additionally, teaching in BIPOC Affinity Spaces helps me create spaces that I wish I had growing up in rural Vermont.
Share a cool/interesting fact about you.
I just started learning to play the harmonium in December 2024. The harmonium is akin to an organ or accordion and is used in a lot of traditional Indian music; it is featured in kirtan. I don't consider myself an overly musical person, but I am enjoying learning a new skill and learning new chants. It is a great way to learn to use your voice!
Tell us about your teaching/classes you are offering for the BYEP.
Classes will fluctuate between gentle movement and restorative yoga depending on what attendees need each week. Some classes may be wholly restorative yoga while others may feature one or two restorative poses with more focus on flow and core strength for the main part of practice. Some classes may even open and close with the use of the harmonium.
